D License Soccer Coach: Your Certificate To Become A Qualified Coach
To qualify as a coach for most of the football associations and clubs, you will require a d license soccer coach certification. This license gives you the qualification of being a football coach for different age groups.
You may be a good player and have coaching talent, but the clubs and other authorities want a documented proof that you are well-trained to coach young players. For this, you need to do courses and get soccer coaching certificates. There are many levels and types of certificates like G level, E level, D level, C level etc.
Basics About The "D" License
There are two levels of the soccer coaching D license, the National D level and the State D license. To pass this course, the pre-requisite is that you need to have an E certificate.
This is a basic certificate in which the course covers some tactical, technical and psychological aspects of the game of football. There is no waiver for this pre-requisite. You can get the E certificate from any state or national football association which conducts the courses.
To qualify for the National soccer coaching d license soccer coach certificate, you must pass all field tests as well as written exams. If you pass the field exam but fail to pass one of the written exams, then you will be awarded the state level D license.
Further more to qualify the National "C" license course, the pre-requisite is that you must have a National level "D" license.
From Where To Do The Courses
You can appear for the certification from places like US Soccer, National Soccer coaches association of America (NSCAA) or any other state education sponsored program. For other places like Canada, Europe, Asia etc., you may look for national coaching and football associations for education and licensing.
The New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) coaching school also offers this program. Here the d certificate football coach license course costs $150 per student. It is a 36 hour course where you will be required to pass both written and practical exams.
The pre-requisite is that you must hold an "E" license for at least 12 months. If you are applying for the "D" level license, you are required to read and understand the "E" level license course material. The US soccer conducts courses which are a week long for the National "A" license and National "B" license.
If you want to know more about these license courses, you can find all information on the internet. Many football association sites have the soccer coaches' mail list where you can discuss and share everyday problems and challenges faced by all coaches, with other coaches online.
The advantage of getting the d license soccer coach is that you are formally qualified to coach football and you gain confidence in yourself.
