Tips On How To Go About Soccer Program Goals And Objectives
As a coach to a soccer team, your first task is to create soccer program goals and objectives. Are you feeling overwhelmed with the thought of how to go about it and how to start off the coaching program?
You shouldn't worry for here we will discuss a system of activities which will help you to achieve your goal of building a strong team. There is no need to get upset about thinking whether you are doing the drills right, whether the players are learning the right moves or whether they are understanding what you want to tell them. It is a game and you and your players should enjoy it.so relax!
Benefits Of Charting Out Program
Let's have a look at some benefits of charting out primary soccer program goals and objectives; these will help you achieve success in record time:
Motivate your players. Tell them that they are there to play and have fun; do not let them get bogged down under pressure. Only if they start enjoying the game in true spirit of the word, can they improve on their skills.
Set objectives. This will help you design the training in such a way that the players find it interesting and avoid routines that seem to tire out or bore the players to no end.
Let the whole team develop as one unit, not just a few players. If they win more games as a team, they will gain confidence and trust in themselves and in each other.
Teach them soccer fundamentals in a creative and enjoyable way. Teach them properly, when and how to use the specific techniques. Let them apply these techniques during the game, this helps them develop a better understanding of the game.Right Approach To Coaching
After setting these football routine objectives and goals, it is time to implement them. Always remember, you are coaching the stars of tomorrow. You never know which one will shine the brightest, your job at this stage is to let their talent nurture and flourish under your supervision. The players have come to play, hone their gaming skills so help them love the game.
The Three L's
There are basic three L's which you have to avoid as a coach of your soccer team. These will further help you achieve your objective:
Lines: Avoid making lines for all drills and activities. Picture yourself standing last in line of any queue, how would you feel? Frustrated, de-motivated, and bored? Instead use elimination games, so that its fun. If a player gets eliminated and is sitting, he will work harder and practice more to do better.
Laps: Doing laps won't do much good to the players. For warming up, it's a nice way of exercise, but for your drill sessions, do specific activities and exercises which improve soccer fundamentals of the players like dribbling, passing, shooting, attacking etc.
Lectures: Lectures and pep-talk is also a necessary part of the coaching process. But choose your words carefully, make it simple yet effective. Use them sparingly.
With the soccer program goals and objectives in place, you have a solid way to start off. Bond with the players, make them understand basics of your program, make the sessions fun and exciting for them..you will see you have a very motivated team in your hands.
