Coaching High School Soccer: Conveying The Right Message

By Andre Botelho (SoccerDrillsTips.com) - Quick Tips

If you are a new coach and you are about to start coaching high school soccer, you should start with conveying some important messages to the players impressively.

You have to be very friendly and strict at the same time to convey the right message.

  • You have to motivate the players to play a fair game.
  • It is also your responsibility to teach them how to stay calm and cool under adverse situations.
  • You must be very supportive to your players and motivate them to be supportive and co-operative with each other.
  • Soccer motivation is the key to be a successful soccer player. Therefore, make sure that all your players are motivated enough to play as hard as possible.

Always remember, sometimes motivation does wonders and a weak team may beat a stronger team.

  • A soccer position must not taken as a hard and fast rule. Of course, you have to fulfil the responsibilities you are assigned for a specific position, but when it comes to the real game, sometimes, you may have to play for some different positions keeping in view the specific situations.

Therefore, when it is about coaching high school soccer, the coach must train the players to be a soccer player first and a forward, a defender later.
