Give & Go Soccer Drill For Kids - Catching Them Young!
Give & go soccer drill for kids ensures that the kids learn soccer the right way where their overall development is complete without any misses! However, to guarantee that the soccer games for kids are worth-while for the kids' soccer training, the coach must make do the following:
The coach must ensure that the fun element in the soccer games for kids is not missed during the skill building techniques otherwise the kids might lose interest in the learning process.
The coach must also make sure that he calls for an overall participation from his group of kids. He should focus on strengthening the basics of the drills like running, dribbling and passing and movement coordination to make certain that the learning process is all-encompassing.
Last but not the least, the coach must make certain that the drills are light and fun-spirited with bouts of breaks to hold the kids' interest for a longer duration and must try to maximize the kid's participation allowing everyone to experience some sense of belongingness and involvement in the group.
Drills To Do
Some of the easy-to-do give & go soccer drill for kids are given below:
Copycat: In this drill, the players form a 10-yard square and dribble inside it. When the coach calls out the name of a certain body part the players are required to touch that body part to the ball as soon as possible. The degree of difficulty of the game can be increased by calling out a combination of body parts like "both knees and left hand".
Red light, green light: This give & go soccer exercise for children enables them to control their ball controlling skills. In this exercise, the players are divided into two teams facing each other in vertical columns roughly 20-30 yards apart and a player from the teams has a ball each. When the players of the team with no ball, yell "green light", the players with the ball are supposed to dribble the ball towards them and halt when the players yell "red light". Whosoever they find not frozen is supposed to go back 5 steps.
Draw: This 'print & go football exercise' for children ensures ball control as well as improves the listening skill of the players. In this drill, the players are divided into two teams facing each other, players of one team with one ball each. The players of both the teams are supposed to pass the ball to the player opposite to him / her while the coach tells a story. The moment the coach says 'draw' the player with the ball is required to draw the ball with his / her foot.
Like moral codes of conduct and etiquette to bring about a good rearing, give & go soccer drill for kids also helps them develop into good players from the very initial stages it self!
