Soccer fitness is the most important element of the game. Great strength and endurance, is the key to achieve success in this game.

Therefore, along with the other things, the coach must understand the importance of the fitness of his or her players.

You must understand this very fact that soccer might be a game of only ninety minutes, but these ninety minutes are like the whole life of a player, and during this time, they need incredible amounts of stamina, in order to give their best performance.

Constant running and jogging in the field for ninety minutes is not an easy cake. You will have to develop your coaching sessions in way that could include some effective soccer fitness training programs.

Always remember, unfit players – no matter how much is their knowledge regarding the various soccer techniques – cannot win you matches.

In order to make the best use of their soccer skills, players need to be fit. The specific fitness soccer drills that you are using in the coaching sessions, must have its focus on increasing speed, agility, and stamina of the players.

You must have the soccer fitness program designed and developed in a way, to tap the full potential of a player.

Soccer Fitness: Improving Aerobic Fitness Of Your Team

Before you go ahead and start developing the various drills for soccer fitness, it is important for you to understand the difference between the different types of fitness. Fitness can be classified in two groups as aerobic and anaerobic fitness.

The anaerobic fitness is the kind of soccer fitness that helps the players to perform at maximum energy, enthusiasm and intensity for a very short period of time. When I say short period of time, it means something not more than twelve seconds.

On the other hand, the aerobic fitness is the kind of soccer fitness that helps your players sustain the intensity of enthusiasm, energy, endurance and speed over a long period of time. Here, when I say long period of time, it means at least ninety minutes.

The soccer fitness plays the most important role in the game of soccer. After all, it is not an easy task to keep running, sprinting, jumping, jogging, falling and doing many physical activities continuously for the entire ninety minutes of the game. Therefore, it is important for the coaches to make sure that the players are perfectly fit all the time - in terms of aerobic soccer fitness.
