Football Exercises: Preparing Your Players

Whether it is about getting your players ready for a training session or for a match, warm up sessions are supposed to be the best football exercises for any team.

Following are some of the best warm up exercises that you can use.

  • Passing through a circle can be a good warm up training for soccer. In this drill, you can have 5 or 6 players in a circle while let one additional player stand behind all these 5 or 6 players.

Now, the players standing in front will pass the ball to each other but they do not have to change their places. They have to keep standing there while passing the ball to each other.

You can make these football exercises more effective by putting a defender in the middle of the circle.

  • Other soccer exercises may include Leg Circuit Exercises, Upper Body exercise, etc. These exercises can be very effective in acquiring great acceleration and sprinting speed for your players.
  • Two-footed squat thrusts are good example of effective warm up drills.

In such exercises, the players are supposed to aim for at least a twelve-inch jump. On the other hand, the upper body football exercises may include Normal press-ups etc.
