In order to improve the footwork soccer skills of your players, you can use plenty of soccer footwork drills.
By blending your own creativity, you may come with some innovative ways as well. However, if you want to be very creative in developing the soccer footwork drills, the best way is to use sticks for the same.
When it is about improving the footwork skills and soccer moves of a player, sticks are the most versatile tools. You can use kindling or fallen twigs, but make sure that whatever type of sticks you purchase, that must be straight.
There should not be any bend in the sticks. The recommended size for the sticks for this particular purpose is, 4- 5 feet long and 1x1 inch.
You can start with laying the sticks on the ground in a way, to give it the form of the rungs of a ladder. Now, you can have your players run, hop, or dribble the ball around these sticks.
You can be as creative as you can, with these sticks. Have some variations in such soccer footwork drills. For example, you may have the players hop on one foot or two feet, forward and backward, or even sideways.
