The soccer pitch dimensions have to be 80 yards. During international matches the dimensions of the field stand at a minimum of 100 m or 110 yards and a maximum of 110m or 120 yards. The width of the pitch is a minimum of 64m or 70 yards and a maximum of 75m or 80 yards.
High School Soccer Field Dimensions - More About It
- The goals have to be placed on the center of each goal line. The distance between the posts has to be about 7.32 m or 8 yards. The distance of the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is to be 8 ft. The width and the depth of both the goalposts are the same and are never more than 5 ins. For safety reasons the goals must be anchored to the ground.
- The play is marked by lines on the field where the long boundary lines are called the touch lines, and the short lines are the goal lines. These lines are not less than 4-5 ins in width. There is also a half line, which divides the field play into half. The midpoint is indicated by a center mark. A circle with a 10 yards radius is marked around the midpoint.
- The goal area is defined at the end of the field. Two lines are drawn at right angles till the goal line. These lines are drawn 6 yards from the inside of each post. These lines then extend to the field of play for about 6 yards and are then joined by a parallel line with the goal line.
- The high school soccer field dimensions require the penalty area to have two lines drawn at right angles to the goal line. These lines are drawn 18 yards from the inside of the goal post. Even these lines extend into the field for a distance of 18 yards.
- From each corner a quarter circle is drawn. This circle has a radius of 1 yard. Another hash mark of one yard is situated at least six inches from the field and 11 yards from the touch line.
- The corner flag is on a post, which should be not less than 5 ft high. It should not have a pointed top and is placed at each corner.
- The staff is around 1.5 ins thick and can be round or square. The flag is a bright colored one, which should be at least two feet long, and one foot wide.
