If you want your goalie to make the quickest moves, so that they could save the goals more effectively, there are certain basic things that you have to teach the goalie, through various soccer goalkeeper drills.
For example, to begin with, the coaches must put this fact in the goalkeeper’s mind that he or she has not more than six seconds, to kick or throw the ball.
The soccer goalkeeper drills must be designed and developed in a way, to teach the goalie, how to make quickest outlet pass, that too, with ultimate accuracy.
Here, you should note that quickness and accuracy must be maintained. It is useless to be quickest without accuracy. Likewise, accuracy without quickness is also not very effective.
Thus, you have to teach the goalie to maintain both quickness and accuracy. Again, walking to the front edge of the penalty area is also considered a good idea for the goalkeeper, before they kick a soccer ball towards the team-mate.
The size of the field also has great impact on the role of the goalkeeper. If the field size is much bigger, the soccer goalie must be taught to position him or herself, much farther from the goal, to minimize the angle, the opponent has on the goal.
