How To Soccer: Teaching Attacking And Positioning

If you are coaching how to kick a soccer ball or the various aspects of the how to soccer to your players, one of the first few things that you must teach your players is about basic attacking principles and positioning.

There are mainly three types of attacking positions. Make sure that your players know about that thoroughly.

If you're teaching soccer, it is your task to teach them how to make the best use of each of these attacking positions.

  • The first attacking player is the one that carries the ball. His or her main task is to retain possession of the ball while getting closer to the opponent’s goal.

This attacking player needs to be stronger and be an expert in dribbling, passing or shooting the ball with pace and accuracy.

  • The second attacking player is the one who is in a position to get easy passes from the first attacker.

Sometimes, when the first attacker finds himself or herself in a huge traffic from the defenders of the opponent team, he or she will look for a teammate to pass the ball.

The second attacker is that particular teammate.

When it comes to how to soccer, there is a third attacking player as well whose main task is to unbalance the defence of the opponent team by making deep runs.

How To Soccer: Making The Soccer Coaching Session Fun And Engaging

There are a lot of things that you need to take into your careful consideration, when it comes to, how to soccer. A new coach may have to face a lot of challenges in this regard.

The biggest challenge for a new coach is perhaps to develop the comfort level with the players. This can be very difficult sometimes, as the coach may have to deal with a bunch of wild kids, who hate to be in discipline while playing.

It is the common nature of young players that they do not want to be lectured for discipline because for them, soccer is a just a game, where their only purpose is to have fun. Therefore, the first thing that you have to teach your players regarding how to soccer is that soccer is a team game and the only way to have great fun playing the same, is to play as a team in discipline.

You have to use your creativity and friendly nature, in order to let them understand that soccer might be just a game, but when the players have to play it in the field, they have to play in order to win only.
