The FIFA Indoor Soccer Rules Regulations

Indoor soccer rules regulations are set up to regularize the game modules. Soccer is played all over the US and in many other parts of the world. This is the reason why it has become necessary to regulate the game. FIFA is the governing body which sets the rules for soccer. These rules and regulations are followed worldwide in all the local as well as international matches.

Let us have a look at the indoor soccer rules regulations. All the games are played in harmony with the Laws of the Game and are issued by the FIFA indoor soccer rules.

Indoor Soccer Rules- A Brief Preview

  • All the team members have to possess a valid pass from the Governing state or NJYSA indoor pass issued by the MCCC league.
  • All teams are allowed to register 18 players including the guests per team.
  • All team players must be registered according to the FIFA age bracket. Teams who are found fielding ineligible players are bound to get disqualified. All games in which ineligible players participate shall be forfeited.
  • All games are 24 minutes long. In cases of serious injury the games would be decided on the 'running clock'. There is no overtime awarded.
  • A team must have a minimum of 5 players to start a game. No more than 11 players can play at a time.
  • Substitution can happen at any time, but the player leaving the field must touch hands with the player who is entering.
  • Only when the referee blows the whistle, will the ball be out. There are no touch lines. All the areas are marked and the players are to play in their designated areas only.
  • Indoor athletic cleats have to be worn by all the team players. Black soled shoes are not allowed. The ball is used only in the playing area. No team member is allowed to bring a ball.

The official indoor soccer rules have to be taught to the players beforehand. The coach must ensure that the team members are well versed with all the regulations, or the team would be in for trouble while play.

Some More Rules Regarding The Game

Penalty rules say that there would be no offsides. Any violation in this rule would result in an indirect kick. If the players make any of the following violations then two minute penalties are given.

    1. Attempting to kick a player.
    2. Attempting to trip or push a player.
    3. Trying to hold a player.
    4. Charging dangerously towards another player.
    5. Tackling from the side.
    6. Using any kind of abusive language.
