What Is The Purpose Of Dribbling In Soccer?
Dribbling is a skill which is used to relocate a soccer player to desirable positions. He is relocated through dribbling so that he can shoot or pass the ball. The purpose of dribbling in soccer is to move the ball across the field, and limit the defending player to get options with the ball.
Learn the proper mechanism of dribbling before you take on the defenders. Also learn dribbling a soccer ball with the inside, outside, instep and the sole of your foot. You would have to run with the ball and even change directions while keeping the ball under your control. Whenever speed is required, move your feet faster and push the ball quickly. Fix your eyes on the ball while dribbling into space; simultaneously scan the field around you.

Tips On The Purpose Of Dribbling In Soccer
- Create angles- Move sideways keeping yourself parallel to the goal line. By this, you would find holes in the line of defense. You would have to master this skill to become proficient in creating passing skills.
- Attract opponents- Another main exploit used to manipulate opponents. If you dribble away from the enemy's goal, then you would attract defenders from their position. You would need to have very good foot skills to be assigned this position.
- Beat opponents- Change directions or speed a dribbler to deceive him and gain an advantageous position. This position would be one from which you can pass or shoot better. Take on your marker quickly or another defender would cover the marker. Challenge your defender as soon as possible.
- Conquer open land and go around defenders- The reason for dribbling in soccer is to draw the defenders out. Always remember to look around for enemies and also keep your eyes on the ball. Go around beating your opponent with one to one confrontations.
A creative dribbler would often dribble wherever he goes. He would challenge a row of trees or even dribble on his way to school. You have to understand that the purpose of dribbling in soccer is not just beating your opponent, but also moving the ball to advantageous positions.
