Why Is Education For A Soccer Player Important?
Education for a soccer player is very important for the overall development of the player. As coaches and education providers, they must teach the players about the emphasis of winning a match. A huge nation of kids who can play soccer has developed. In fact, there are many smaller nations which have larger playing pools than the U.S.
The reason why United States has a small pool is that the young players are being continuously eliminated from the team. Soccer is a game which produces more losers than winners. The coaches must emphasize on winning the matches, so that he receives both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards.
Players who lose their game also lose their self esteem. The coach must instill a winning streak in his team. The young soccer players must enjoy the game and all the necessary skills should be taught to them to succeed in the game.
Requisites For Education For A Soccer Player
- The coach should be sensitive to what the kids are saying. Listen to their personal problems and try to help them by taking keen interest in all that they have to relate.
- Make sure that as the coach, you rotate the players, so that they play in all positions.
- Maintain a balance between the number of games, the number of practices and the academic requirements of the player.
- Be patient if a player makes mistakes. Try and improve his weaker points by giving him some extra points. This, in turn, would build self confidence in the player.
- Always play multi goaled but small sided games.
If the performance of the player is not good enough, then probably the coach is:
- Not teaching the skills properly.
- Too critical of the player's mistakes.
- The player is not able to develop an ownership of why he is playing the game.
- The players are not having fun on the field.
Studies have shown that many young players who play soccer are quitting the game. They are either not enjoying the game or the pressure of winning is too much for them to handle.
The coach has to make sure that the player builds passion for the game, so that other distractions do not take him away from playing soccer. The elimination of youth players is also due to their bad academic performance.
So the coach has to maintain a balance to make him a good player as well as a good academician. Education for a football player would make him bright in the mental sphere whereas the game would make him excel physically, ensuring an all-round development.
The coach has to ensure that the player is enjoying his game and at the same time solve his personal problems also. Provide education for a soccer player and yet be sensitive with him to make him an all-achiever.Education For A Soccer Player | Soccer Skills | How To Play Soccer
