More About Corner Kick Play Soccer
A corner kick play soccer is taken from within the corner arc which is nearest to the place where the ball crossed the goal line. A corner kick is awarded when the full ball has crossed the goal line while on the ground or in the air, excluding the portion between the goal posts, and has been played last by a member of the defending team. The corner kick is awarded to the attacking team in the above situation.
Other Rules Regarding A Corner Kick
- All the opponents shall be at least 6 yards or 5.5 m from the ball till the time it has been kicked.
- A free kick would be awarded to the opposing team if the player taking a corner kick plays or even touches the ball another time before it has been played by another player.
- A corner kick can also directly score a goal.
Foot kicking soccer ball would require the players to be given specialist positions. This can prove very effective during matches. Whenever the team is under pressure, then their positions can be of great help. If they know where to stand and what to do, then the players would be able to play with more confidence.
If your team is giving away a lot of goals, then you would need to place a player in your penalty area, so that the corner taker is blocked. If this tip is followed religiously, then you would never give in from a corner again.
While defending a corner, an important position is also that of the person who is closest to the corner taker. Football kicking soccer ball would require this player on the edge of the box from where the flight of the ball is proposed.
Try placing a strong player at this position as this would prevent short corners and the player would be put off for taking the corner. Corner kick play soccer training should allow the player to practice in a position where he constantly has the ball to hit it hard.
Play the smart way so that your defenders are able to play in a way that they have an edge over the other players. Let us take a look at some corner kick strategies:
- Penalty spot corner involves the player to kick the ball somewhere around the penalty area.
- Near post corner would require the player who is the corner taker to hit across so that the ball lands near the post. Here a teammate would rush and take the ball towards the goal.
- Short corner involves two players to stand near the flag. The kick taker would pass the ball to the second player and this player would carry on the game from there.
- Long shot corner is very hard to carry out since it requires a lot of practice, a perfect pass and a good volley. This corner proves to be a very good scoring opportunity.
