Offensive Skills In Soccer - How To Teach The Take-On Techniques
Offensive skills in soccer are as important as the other skills. Therefore, while you are making your players practice other skills, such as basic ball-stealing skills, defensive techniques, basic ball-holding skills, receiving and shielding techniques, you should also spend some quality time on teaching your players the different take-on techniques in order to improve their attacking skills.
The best strategy is always to start with developing the receiving and shielding skills of your players, then the offensive or attacking skills, which should be further followed by defensive training.
How To Teach Attacking Skills To Your Players
The first thing that you need to teach your players regarding the Brazilian soccer skills is how to keep their head up, watch and analyze the situation closely, while moving ahead with the ball.
When a player is an attacking mood, the defenders of the opponent team will definitely try to win the ball from him or her. Therefore, it is important for you to teach the players how to tackle those defenders.
If you have played much football yourself, you very well know that when a defender makes an attempt to stab at the ball, his entire body weight is mainly on one leg. The attacking player can take advantage of this situation. The best strategy is to attack the outside of the defender's dead leg and go around him.
The quality of a player in the offensive skills in soccer will also depend upon how good he or she is when it comes to shooting the ball.
However, before you go ahead and start teaching about the shooting techniques, you must make sure that your players know how to kick a football correctly. If they are not good at kicking, you had better focus on developing the kicking skills of your players first.
There are several ways to shoot the ball, such as with the inside of the foot, with the instep, and even with the toe. A good coach like you must teach the players about which method should be used and when in order to produce the most productive results.
If the players are good at shooting the ball and the different offensive skills in soccer , they will definitely get more opportunities to score the goal. However, always remember that scoring in soccer is all about having patience, doing hard work, making quick decisions, and getting the best out of the scoring opportunities coming your way. So, teach your players the following things:
- To have patience
- To be always alert and ready
- Not to be scared to take open shots
- To play their guts hard. Hard work pays.
