When you make soccer drill diagrams for ages 7-14 as part of your session lesson plan, there are many important points to remember. Here is a quick checklist that will help you make them effective.
- The session you devise should take into account number of members on the team.
- The drills and soccer activities you choose must be ideal for the 7-14 age groups.
- The activities chosen must progress from the easy to the difficult – make a list here of how you plan to increase the difficulty level.
- Your session must incorporate a warm-up, a small-sided activity plus a six versus six game involving two big goals.
- Drill diagrams must be included at the right places in your soccer lesson plan with details of the points you wish to highlight and how you want to organize them.
- Your drill diagrams must be easy to understand and include the play area size. Use easy indications for pass, run, dribble and neutral players.
- What is the aim of the game? List these along with how you plan to score them.
