Soccer Moves To Beat An Opponent

By Andre Botelho (SoccerDrillsTips.com)

As you coach your players, they reach a level when you need to teach them soccer moves to beat an opponent. After all, it is natural for every player to dream of getting the better of the opposing team and winning the match.

  • Strategic Moves You Can Educate Your Soccer Players With

The moment your player achieves the first touch and steers the ball away to a part of the field where there is less pressure, he can quickly gauge the situation and decide on the next move. He must see the number of defenders between the goal and himself and then decide on a course of action to beat them.

This is necessary to prevent the opposing team from scoring a goal and to do this the player must kick the soccer ball as far away from his own goal as possible. In addition to this, he must also try to get as close to the opposing team’s goal as he can, since it will enable him score.

  • Speed

As soon as the player receives the ball if he finds that the distance is not suitable from the goal to attempt a shot, he must set about finding a way to get to the vicinity of the goal by beating the opponents. As far as an attacker is concerned, he must also watch out for a defender approaching him from the rear at a fast pace.

The ideal situation is of course, when the attacker himself is very quick and manages to outpace the opponent so that he manages to score the goal before the opponent catches up with him. It is tough for defense to catch an attacker who is running swiftly.

On the other hand, an attacker can get around a static defense by performing a one touch to the side. Players can use several techniques to get around the opponents. This requires quick thinking and decision-making on the move.

In soccer coaching, you must teach soccer players a variety of attacking soccer moves and styles so that they can take their opponents by surprise. Good players all work on developing their speed and therefore, speed is not the only tactic to conquer an opponent.

You must introduce them to group tactics as well as individual soccer moves to beat an opponent since ultimately soccer is a team effort to win the game.
