Soccer Techniques Clips As A Teaching Aid

By Andre Botelho (SoccerDrillsTips.com)

Soccer techniques clips can serve as very effective teaching aids to show your players exactly how certain skills are used and when. While you will keep them practicing the basic soccer ball skills they learn, they will need your guidance to know when these techniques are appropriate in a game.

Here is where clips are very useful, as they will complement your instruction.

How Video Clips Will Help You As A Coach

As a coach, your goal is to help your players develop and perfect their soccer techniques enabling them use those with confidence. Here is how video clips can help you when you practice the basic skills and techniques with your players:

  • You can highlight how significant a technique is in specific game situations.
  • You can focus on some vitally important points so that the players can use the techniques they view.
  • You can demonstrate how a technique is performed and ask them to repeat with you and then practice it.
  • By going back to the clip it is easy to see where improvement needs to be made.
  • Viewing technique clips in practice sessions can be very inspiring for the players.

How To Teach The Techniques

The best way to teach soccer coaching drills to your players is to begin at the basic level and slowly increase the level of complexity. Your players should begin with the most basic form and practice it in a situation where there is no pressure as the idea is to develop the technique.

As they master it, make it more complex. You can have your players practice within a restricted area to put them under pressure or just add more players to the same area. This helps them practice the technique with constraints.

For variation a passive and active defender can be added in turns. The aim is to have the players use the technique exactly as they would use it in a game situation on the field.

It is always exciting to watch your favorite players perform complicated soccer coaching techniques and since each player will surely have a role model he wants to emulate, you would be bringing in a lot of enthusiasm into the training and practice sessions when you introduce soccer techniques clips. Visual learning can be very effective as the absorption is quicker and your players are more likely to remember what they saw rather than what they heard.
